From little things big things grow. In 1990 a handful of passionate brothers and sisters began to organise, agitate, vocalise and celebrate Brisbane's Lesbian and Gay culture - they planted the seeds. Eleven years on we're a thriving, out, loud and proud Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community bursting with vitality. In 2000 we celebrate our diversity, our growth and the things yet to come with the theme Pride Blooms. And bloom we will from kick off on June 11 at the Queen's Ball until the HotHouse Dance Party on July 29. You're going to be busy at our biggest yet, brightest ever Festival. Don't miss Pride's big day out the Rally, March and Fair Day on June 24 and there's a packed calendar including the Powerhouse Queer Film and Video Weekend; Dog Day Afternoon - A Queer Family Picnic; community forums, sporting meets, and an excellent array of live performance and arts events - see calendar. 2000 pride collective
The Pride Festival is organised annually by the Pride Collective. The collective is made up of volunteers from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the Festival is not for profit and based on a philosophy of equity, access and inclusion.
