Community Contributions

The management board of Brisbane Pride Festival is pleased to announce the presentation of five $1000 community contributions to five outstanding community organisations.

Brisbane Pride President, Scott Hampson said, "when the current board took over in 2006, one of our long term aims was to fulfil Pride's ultimate aim of giving back the community.  Little did I know that we jwould achieve our goal in only two years.

The following organisations, PFLAG, Open Doors, GLWA, Queer Radio and Dykes on Mykes, have been recognised for their long term committment to the wellbeing of our community.  Without the dedication of the people who volunteer their time, many people would have nowhere to turn.  2009's theme of ONE COMMUNITY is about recognising these organisations and more importantly recognising the people behind the organisations who give so much emotionally, professionally and financially.

Mr Hampson hopes that everyone in our community will get behind this theme and support these worthy organisations.
