Pride Festival Open Forum
To be held at the Sportsman Hotel on March 21 at 7PM, it will give the people a chance to meet this years team of people who are fighting to ensure the secure and long-term survival of BPF, as well as ask questions and discuss points about this years festival.

New Committee Rattles The Cans
If you dared venutre out in the miserable weather of the second weekend in October you probably would have seen our new committee out on the streets and in the clubs extolling the virtues of Pride Membership.
Our 'Put Out With Pride' membership drive is all about putting us in a better finacial postition to ensure we can put on a bigger and better festival this year. Many people don't realise just how much money it takes to put on a festival these days.
First up there is the cost of insurance. The cost of insurance for public events has skyrocketed since the 9/11 attacks in the USA and without insurance you can't even book a venue.
The other major cost that nobody thinks about is paying for the police. We are forced to have the police on hand and we are forced to pay for their services.
The last cost is also one we'd rather we didn't have to need... and that's fencing. Because of local council regulations, insurance issues and liquor licencing many metres of fencing are needed.
So the next time you see one of us out and about you hopefully won't have to ask what the money is for and where it goes.

Calling For Submissions
Planning for the 2011 season is well underway, with plans for an even bigger and better festival. If you have an idea for an event, suggestion for improving the festival or just want to get involved let us know.Regular news updates will be posted on the website. Want to have a stall at Fair Day? Perhaps you have an event or performance you would like to add to the festival. We will be taking expressions of interest for performances, performers, sponsors and stall holders from September. All the 2011 Forms will be posted on the website, in the usual place early January
